"cGAs, Trex1 and type 1 Interferons -- Oh my! New insights into the immunological pathogenesis of lupus." Will focus on the clinical presentations of Cutaneous Lupus Erythematosus, the risk of concomitant Systemic Lupus Erythematosus, and delve into the current understanding of the pathophysiology of lupus.

Learning Objectives:

  • Recognize the clinical presentations of Cutaneous Lupus Erythematosus (CLE)
  • Recognize that different CLE subtypes have differing risk of Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) development
  • Explain the current understanding of the pathophysiology of CLE
  • Identify characteristic auto-antibodies seen in CLE, SLE, drug induced SLE, drug induced CLE and the sensitivities and specificities of these auto-antibodies
