The purpose of this activity is for dermatology clinicians to be able to identify pediatric patients with dermatological emergencies to facilitate emergent care needs.
Learning Objectives:
Identify subtle signs of pediatric dermatological emergencies to facilitate treatment initiation.
Analyze skin conditions commonly seen in pediatric population including Exczema Herpeticum, Staph scalded skin syndrome, Stevens Johnson, and Toxic epidermal necrolysis. (RX 15 minutes)
Discuss pharmacotherapeutic interventions frequently prescribed in these conditions including dosing, application and monitoring.
