Program Purpose: Learners should be fully informed about certification; its history, the process, and benefits.

Learning Objectives
Upon successful completion of this educational program, the participant should be able to:

Discuss the historical roots of certification in specialty nursing practice.
Identify the constructs of certification that validate dermatology nursing practice.
Identify the processes and benefits of certification.
